Vol. 10 - Chapter 494 - Lana's ascension route to ‹Advanced Princess Job›!
"Hmm."
I also replied with a short nod, making sure to not distract her and ruin her moment as she
revels in the sensation.
Other girls seemed to have sensed the mood, too, and quieted down.
Putting one hand on to her chest, Sierra closed her eyes, feeling the changes and with a twirl, turned toward me.
"You will have to teach me how to raise my status, skill etc, alright? After all, I have never heard about ‹Sanctified Shield Princess› job."
"Of course, I will see it through to the end! The world will soon see the might of the strongest shield job, I’m sure!”
I had already prepared the strongest training plan for the ‹Sanctified Shield Princess›, and most of all, it was upward compatible with ‹Shield Princess› perfectly! Then again, I had prepared her earlier training plan with the ‹Sanctified Shield Princess› as in mind.
As I gave my thumbs up of reassurance, a soft smile tugged on her lips, giggling.
Arrgggh, my heart. Don't do this my poor heart! Sierra's smile, more gentle than ever, had thoroughly made my heart captive of it.
"Yes, please. —But for now, this is the end huh. Next is...Her Highness Lana I guess?"
"It's finally my turn! Also, congratulations for moving to an advanced job, Sierra! I can't wait, truly!"
Whoops, it was already the time for Lana's turn.
Though I had already prepared everything for her job promotion. As it was in the game, it would be a combo of the strongest shielder with stronger healer, fuhahaha!
"Sierra-dono, congratulations."
"Yipee, Sierra-san!"
"Hn, congrats. Sierra."
"Yes, thank you, everyone. I appreciate your wishes."
Once the excitement of the moment had calmed down, the rest of the girls turned to wish Sierra successively.
With cheeks slightly crimson, she stepped back to the group, and replacing her, Lana stood in front of the ‹Dragon Statue›.
"—Now that I'm here, it's really so nerve-wracking. Well, Zephyr, so what do I need to do?"
"Relax and leave it to me! So, about your job promotion—"
Lana's job was ‹Saintess›. With some even labelling it as the strongest among ‹Princess Jobs›, it had three ascension routes.
However, before I could explain, Lana took over the explanation.
"I know. I have thoroughly read the records passed down to our royal capital on my home trip. There are three available routes for ‹Saintess›; first is ‹Halcyon Saintess›, with extreme focus on recovery magic spells. Second is ‹Elysian Saintess›, it centralises on support magic and further enhances their capabilities and types. And finally, ‹Seraphic Saintess›, which promote overall abilities."
"Amazing, you really have got it down~."
'Hmph, of course,' When I uttered my praise, Lana puffed her chest in triumphant, grinning. Perhaps due to the excitement, her cheeks were flushed red, enhancing her cuteness.
But I guess that's to expect from the jobs of the ‹Royal› category. The royal family of this world were quite aware of the advanced jobs huh.
Lana had pretty much summed everything in her explanation. ‹Saintess› was the pinnacle of the job in regards to support and recovery. Walking further down in the job, their advanced route was split into core recovery, core support and all-rounder categories. Meanwhile, if the conditions weren't fulfilled, the list would show ‹Queen›, the advanced job of ‹Princess›.
So it was extremely important to make sure of every detail.
"So which one you're going to choose for me, Zephyr?"
Lana asked with slightly upturned eyes.
"Ugh," a groan unwittingly made its way out. Phew, the destructive power of her upturned gaze was over 9000. But her unconditional faith in me, leaving everything for me to decide, also filled me with delight from inside.
"Zephyr?"
"Stare......"
At my silence, Lana's voice, and someone's stare fall onto me.
"Hmm, o-ohh, right, deciding the single one huh.—Ahem!"
If she wanted to know, then I must answer of course! I cleared my throat to get back on the track again. The job I had decided for her was—
"—I want you to acquire ‹Seraphic Saintess›!"
For some inexplicable reason, I ended up clenching my fist as I unravelled my plan.
"‹Seraphic Saintess›!"
"I believe it’s also a pinnacle job, right beside Yuri-sama's ‹Hero King›."
Lana bobbed her head up and down, bursting out in laughter. Ester followed with red cheeks, seemingly just as much excited about the decision.
"Hehe, I guessed right! I knew Zephyr would choose ‹Seraphic Saintess›!"
Oh? Apparently, everything was within Lana's guesswork. But I guess she should have known this better than anyone else.
‹Halcyon Saintess›, with its core forte being the recovery, had extremely potent healing magics in its array. So far, I could bet no other job could come anywhere near their healing capabilities.
But this boon was the landmine here. ‹Halcyon Saintess› healing knows no bounds. It would instantly heal your HP...and still would have surplus left behind.
In a party, the obvious suggestion would be to rather focus on support or attack with such potent healing. However as its core forte was recovery, the job didn't have any strong support or offensive spell. The foremost event someone would require such potent healing would either be during the guild battle, or raid battles. Needless to say, it wasn't for us.
It was strong, of course, and I could already think of scenarios where they would be well desired; like the raid battles we might go through in future. Furthermore, this job was the nightmare of many in guild battles when you equipped the user with specific equipment, allowing them to heal from a distance. Well, in a dungeon, the more preferred form would be to keep healers close though.
Since ‹Halcyon Saintess› was out of option, the gear moved to ‹Elysian Saintess›.
As a job whose forte lies in support, its arsenal of support spells was vast and terrifyingly strong, capable of turning the tides of battle for many.
In addition, it was just as strong in defence with reflection spells or barrier magic etc amidst its array of magic. This job alone could often decide the outcome of guild battle. But, the game changer moment for this job was the MP recovery spell. You know what was scarier than enemies firing 'pew-pew' spells? The gatling gun like 'ra-ta-ta-ta-ta' successively fired spells, and that's how this spell shows its worth. After all, if given a chance, who wouldn't want to revel in the experience of endless spells without having to worry about MP potion stock.
Furthermore, the job also had skills to grow and nurture spirit herbs, sacred trees or even the elixir making skill. Well, it wasn't that important since ‹Seraphic Saintess› had these skills as well.
In the game, the top contender for promotion from ‹Saintess› would always be either ‹Elysian Saintess› or ‹Seraphic Saintess›.
Finally moving on to the centrepiece, ‹Seraphic Saintess›.
It was an all-rounder job, focusing on improving the overall abilities of ‹Saintess›.
While it inhibits quite a wide array of magic available in both ‹Halcyon Saintess› and ‹Elysian Saintess›, the focal point about this was the strategic values in it; the job provides one extra SUP. I couldn't stress enough about the importance of this.
In addition, following its plethora of support, defence and offensive spells, the job could function in mode ranging from dungeon to guild battles to raid battles. This was the perfect amalgamation of everything that I required from a support job.
But, what earned this job an instant yes was...its unique skill; ‹Divine Miracle - The light of Protection›. The pièce de résistance that no one could turn a blind eye to.
The effect of the unique skill was rendering Strengthening Buff Removal Skill ineffective. Basically, this unique skill turned the buff cancellation skill of certain bosses ineffective.
I must reiterate here, this was an absolutely terrific skill. This single unique skill could easily turn the tide of battle into our sides when fighting strong bosses. After all, as long as there was a remedy to reassure the party's buff, we could even muscle our way. It was a single unique skill, but the effect it exerted was a game changer.
As the holy grail for the exploration of advanced dungeons and so on, the ‹Seraphic Saintess› job was well deserved of its popularity in the game.
Much like Sierra, her current training plan, too, was devised with the foresight of ‹Seraphic Saintess› in mind. And finally, the day had come where the seed sowed long before would finally bore the fruit.
I swiftly passed the ‹Jewel of Sacred Heaven› to Lana and sorted out the condition for ‹Seraphic Saintess›.
