Chapter 208 Beauties

"Well, I need to deal with them." Johnson seemed a little arrogant when dealing with these businessmen. He knew what they were after.

"Let's talk later." After nodding his compliments, Douglas moved to the side.

When those people saw Johnson ending his talk, they swarmed him with flattery. They didn't dare to approach the Rothschilds because of fear.

"Sami, your mother and I are going to talk to some old friends. Do you want to come?"

"No, what will I do talking to those old people? I don't like it." Samuel resolutely refused. They would only talk business or occasionally brag about their company. It was not suitable for him. He had already tried it once in the past; their speech's amount of bluffing and treachery was commendable.

"Okay, then you are free." Robert shrugged. He knew why his son was so against it, but it was customary to be social in such gatherings. It was a hassle, but 'when in Rome, do as Romans do,' right?

….

….

.....

Samuel came to the buffet area alone. The first thing he saw was the champagne tower and the Rothschild's family 1996 Lafite red wine bottles placed beside it. It was a pity that he could do nothing with it.

It was the damn American Law, the law of drinking at the age of 2. Who hell came up with something so outrageous? But no matter how much he complained, he could not change it, no could he!

He quietly asked the waiter for a non-alcoholic cocktail and took a few sips.

Fortunately, there was plenty of gourmet food to choose from, but the banquet also had yet to officially start, which was why he felt awkward diving in.

Just as he was panicking about his next move, a clear and beautiful female voice came from his back.

"I was wondering why those pesky Waltons suddenly got meek. It seems I finally found why."

Samuel turned his head and showed a surprised expression. He didn't expect to meet her here.

"I heard you moved to New York. What brings you here?"

" Do I need a reason to meet you? I just wanted to see some nice 'bitch' fight." She had a pleasant tone if one ignored the context.

" You haven't changed a bit. A pretty face with a vulgar mouth, but I am sorry to disappoint you, but I would not be fighting anyone tonight." Samuel shrugged. It was true he had gotten into trouble before, but he was sure no such person would dare start any funny business. He had made quite an impact in his past 'fights'.

"Hmm, I'm quite disappointed." The visitor chuckled before continuing.

"But you seem to misunderstand my earlier statement. It was just a friendly warning; why are you so wary of me?"

" If you suggest I am scared of you, you are dead wrong. I could take hundred times-"

" Oh, are you sure you want to finish that sentence? You might regret it later." She put on a seductive smile, openly taunting him.

Miss Maia Hopland was what people considered the peak beauty in the United States. Her family held unimaginable wealth and power comparable to the Morgan family. Samuel had a weird relationship with her; it was not like she was the wrong person, but getting entangled with her would certainly be messy.

Also, for some reason, she had a foul mouth, but only a few people knew about it; Samuel didn't know, but whenever they talked, she would constantly be in a bad mood or say some concerning things.

" I guess that's what happens when you pamper them too much, right?" Samuel thought.

" Really, Why don't we go somewhere quiet then? We will see who regrets it!" Samuel refused to back down. Why was he so confident? Because he knew that she was a scary cat whenever he became a little forceful.

As expected, she didn't know how to reply. It was definitely alluring to see her blushed face, but she quickly composed herself.

" Funny, but my parents are watching. We don't want to give them any weird ideas, right?" She changed the subject.

" Huh? Really?" Samuel knew them personally. Unlike their child, they were pretty nice folks. It was also rare for them to attend parties like this. Well, his parents were the same if he thought about it.

"Of course; look, They are beside your parents." Looking in the direction of the finger, he could see his mother talking with them. The two ladies were smiling eerily while looking at him.

" That definitely doesn't look like a normal conversation," Samuel concluded.

"By the way, it's not just us, Waltons, Bloomberg family, the Hydrik family and that bitc- sorry, Hanson family is also here." When she mentioned these people, Samuel followed her gaze and spotted them in response; the people in question curled up their lips and looked back at him.

" Shit! Why are they staring at me? I don't even know them personally." Samuel thought but noticed Maia sitting beside him.

He understood why they were giving him crazy eyes. It became clear that these were her fans, these punks were leaders in their respective circles, and they usually tried to avoid appearing in the same place.

Most of these people had similar social standings; as long as they met, they would compare about the tiniest of things. Even if these people never thought about it, the entertainment reporters would help fuel the fire. These kids were the easy picking for those hyenas.

" It looks like it would be a long night." He muttered.

" Why don't you like sitting with me?" Maia said as she locked arms with him.

" Hey, cut it out! I would definitely be killed if she saw us like this." Samuel tried to free himself without drawing attention. Thinking about the consequences, he couldn't help but shudder.

"Congratulations, you guessed it right." A coquettish voice interrupted them. He recognized this voice instantly.

"Fuck they really came."

Iblis, Paige, and her sister, Nicole, surrounded his table. Paige and Nicole were from the Hydrik dynasty.

For a moment, sparks began to fly everywhere.

Samuel, who was at the centre of it, was a little flustered.

Surrounded by this group of 'beauties', he began formulating an escape plan.
