Chapter 629 Fool
"It looks like your honorable leader is not willing to reveal his Log of the ancient to us! Under normal circumstances, I wouldn\'t be worried about someone recommended and trusted by the Demi Gods in our Circle, but how are we supposed to know what your leader did in the last 27 years? Maybe he made a deal with a foreign race and received unfathomable treasures and benefits in exchange for betraying his own people.
The human mind is fickle, and only the strong-willed can survive in the dark times we\'re living in right now!! Can we really trust someone, who doesn\'t even want to reveal his Log of the Ancient to prove that he is one of us, one of the brave Warriors, who fights against the evil forces that infiltrated our lands and oceans?!"
If Dilan had the power to tone down the volume in which someone could speak by piercing his heart, he would have long since done so.
Wilhelm Star was spouting the same nonsense Dilan had imagined him to say. On one hand, that was pretty annoying, but on the other hand, it was quite enjoyable as well.
Dilan was not exactly sure what role he was supposed to take in this conversation, but he was getting ready.
He shrugged his shoulders and put on an innocent expression.
"I think you misunderstand a few things. First of all, I\'m the former leader of the Undying Group. I never said that I\'m still their leader, and I won\'t force anyone to acknowledge me as their leader. That is simply not what I will be doing. However, as you could see, Rory doesn\'t really like the way you talk to me.
I think she would tear you apart if possible. She should be stronger than you as well from my observation…though she would lose in a battle of technique and ability usage…" Dilan spoke in a calm and composed manner. He was totally unaffected by the accusation of the Demi God, and he even smiled at Wilhelm Star as he continued,
"...About the question you asked at the beginning before you started spouting bullshit… Yes, I believe that you are a fool. Furthermore, I\'m telling the truth about my Log of the Ancient. I don\'t need your belief to know that I\'m not lying."
Dilan thought about something when he saw a glint deep inside Wilhelm Star\'s eyes. There was something that excited Dilan but the same thing worried him a little bit. Thus, he exposed a few more pieces of information, which he didn\'t want to expose earlier. It was nothing too important, either way.
"I disabled the Log of the Ancient because it draws attention to things that are not important. I deactivated a bunch of system notifications as well, including the notifications you usually receive after absorbing the Essence from an Essence crystal. Ask the system if you\'re allowed to customize your system, if it says no, then I\'m sorry, but I am more important than you!"
The fact that Dilan disabled the Log of the Ancient was not even something the others knew. Dilan didn\'t really think that it was important, to begin with.
He would tell the others later that it was very important to focus on their basics, learn a few combat techniques, and improve their talents as combatants rather than bluntly increasing the rank of their abilities or their Tiers.
It was great if they could become Lesser Gods as quickly as possible but Dilan figured that there was a lot to do with the people around him. The Blood Orc Apostles showed him quite clearly that his friends and comrades were not on the same stage as most other Demi Gods.
Under normal circumstances, an Ascender would require a few hundred years of experience and hard work to become a Demi God. However, Yvonne and everyone else had become Demi Gods at the age of 50. Rory was only a little older, while Victoria was a little bit more than a little bit older.
Nonetheless, each of them, excluding Rory, required less than 27 years to advance from a Tierless Level 0 existence, a perfectly normal being who had considered mana and magic to be something from novels and fairy tales, to the fifth Tier, a rank that most existences won\'t ever reach.
It was obvious that they lacked a lot. That was also why he was ready to leave the emergency room and search for the Queen\'s Image to acquire some information.
"Why would y–..." Wilhelm Star asked, ready to create a new trap to catch Dilan in when he was disrupted.
Dilan sighed deeply before his expression changed a little, "That\'s none of your business. You will understand soon enough!"
There was no reason for him to explain to Wilhelm what he was planning. Either the Demi God would accept his idea, or he would reject it. It didn\'t really matter to Dilan, one way or another.
"By the way…I don\'t really want to interrupt your little quarrel…but who the hell allowed you to resign as our leader?!?" Kathrine shouted before she groaned in pain as her back tensed up. She was on her front, inside a medical bed that looked like one of those massage tables.
Kathrine\'s face looked through the small hole at the top of her bed. She stared at the ground and was ready to continue shouting at Dilan when she felt the pain spreading through her back.
Dilan wanted to tell Kathrine to calm down and wait until she was tended to. Her injuries were severe enough for her to go around shouting out loud.
But he couldn\'t even say something when Williams agreed.
"This little idiot is right. Who said that you\'re allowed to leave like that? You will create trouble one way or another. The least you can do is stay our leader and let us exploit your reputation!"
Williams was joking, or so Dilan thought and he ended up shaking his head.
\'Aren\'t we straying away from the main topic?\'
But things got even more complicated when Nicolas said something in the general meeting for the first time.
"If we\'re already talking about the Undying Group, are there still some spots left for a Demi God? I might not be the strongest, but I\'m pretty sure that I can be quite helpful!"
"....Huh?"
