Chapter 329 Is That Enough To Prove I'm Serious?
Villain Ch 329. Is That Enough to Prove I\'m Serious?
The group ventured deeper into the chamber, their every step echoing in the dimly lit room. The air hung heavy with anticipation, and their eyes darted in all directions, vigilant for any sign of danger. This part of the pyramid was vast, lacking any partitions or walls, with only a single large room adorned with ancient pillars. The limited visibility heightened their caution, as they knew that monsters could lurk in the shadows, ready to strike from any angle.
The muffled grunts of the mummies resonated through the chamber, adding to the eerie atmosphere. Slow and sluggish like Ghouls, the mummies were less of a threat in terms of speed, but their ancient curses and sheer strength made them formidable adversaries. Luckily, due to their speed, Allen\'s Telekinesis Blast or Larissa\'s Blood Manipulation should be enough to defeat them.
The Lamias\' hisses seemed to echo from all directions, surrounding them like a haunting symphony of death. It was a chilling sound that sent shivers down their spines.
Some Lamias liked to coil around tall pillars, their serpentine bodies blending into the shadows. They had an uncanny ability to remain motionless, watching and waiting for their prey to draw near. It was a deadly strategy that tested their patience and caution.
"They\'re like vipers waiting to strike," Alice whispered, her eyes darting around the chamber. "We need to be careful. They won\'t make a move until they have the advantage."
Larissa nodded, her gaze fixated on the Lamias above. "Agreed. Let\'s proceed slowly and watch our footing. We don\'t want to fall into their trap."
Their journey through the chamber seemed unending, each step taking them deeper into the heart of the chamber. The dim light cast eerie shadows on the walls, and the air hung heavy with the scent of dust and decay.
A few minutes later, they found themselves facing a horde of monsters, their eyes glinting with a malevolent hunger. Among them were mummies, their bandaged forms moving with surprising speed, and Lamias, their serpentine bodies coiled and ready to strike. The group prepared to face whatever came their way.
Allen lunged at the nearest mummy with a fierce battle cry. His demonic claws tore through the bandages, leaving the mummy in tatters. But even as he triumphed over the mummy, he felt a chilling sensation at the back of his neck. He knew it was a Lamia and one that was ready to attack.
Without hesitating, Allen snapped his fingers, summoning dark orbs of energy. He was prepared to use his lethal skill to dispose of the Lamia before it could strike.
But just as he was about to release his dark energy, shadows swooped in, engulfing the Lamia. The creature struggled to break free, but the shadows held her in a tight grip, rendering her immobile. Soon, the red blades sliced through the lamia\'s body, ending her life in an instant.
The fallen Lamia\'s scream reached Allen\'s ears, causing him to glance back and witness the creature\'s lifeless body. He knew that Alice and Larissa had swiftly taken down the Lamia, saving him from a potentially dangerous situation. Despite their heroic act, Allen couldn\'t help but give them a deadpan look as the girls continued to fend off the mummies and skeleton warriors.
It was Bella\'s Fire Wall that kept those monsters at bay. But instead of concentrating on themselves, Larissa and Alice chose to keep those lamias from approaching Allen.
Allen took a deep breath and cringed. "Are you serious? You guys really can\'t take that joke?" he muttered, his voice tinged with weariness. He realized that they might have taken his jest about Lamia\'s breasts more seriously than he intended.
Without saying anything else, he waved his hand forward, launching his floating dark orbs. The booming sound rang once they landed on those monsters.
The monsters had fallen one by one under the relentless onslaught. Soon, the system announced their victory was mixed with the pained growls of the defeated creatures. Another announcement appeared, displaying the loot they had obtained from the slain monsters. Bella\'s Wall of Fire began to flicker and fade, signifying the end of the spell. As the fire diminished, Alice, Bella, and Larissa looked around, their eyes immediately falling upon Allen\'s sullen expression. His arms folded in front of his chest.
Larissa was the first to break the silence. "Let me guess, you\'re not happy that we killed the lamia first," she said, her tone laced with an annoyingly teasing smile.
Allen let out a sigh, his irritation was evident in his response. "No, I\'m not happy because you guys didn\'t concentrate on this hunt properly," he said firmly. "I know I joked about the lamias and, yes, they caught my attention. But I\'m not kidding anymore. This place is a high-level map, and we\'ll be facing the boss soon. We can\'t afford to be careless."
He paused for a moment, his gaze sweeping over his companions. "Besides, we have to be on guard. Other players could ambush us at any time," he reminded them.
"Well, as long as you don\'t glance at the lamia again," Alice remarked, half in jest and half in seriousness, making a condition for Allen.
"Don\'t worry. I won\'t do it," Allen replied, assuring them that he had learned his lesson. He glanced up, scanning their surroundings with a keen eye. Quickly, he activated his Shadow Step ability. His body blurred as he shifted, and in a heartbeat, he appeared behind a lamia that was sliding on a pillar nearby, ready to launch another attack.
With lightning-fast reflexes, Allen\'s demonic claw shot up, and within a single second, he delivered four slashes that shattered the lamia\'s back. He ended the creature\'s life with a final stab from his demonic claw. The lamia fell lifeless to the ground, and Allen stood poised, his eyes fixed on his companions.
"Is that enough to prove I\'m serious?" he said, raising one eyebrow in challenge.
Before they could answer, another sound echoed through the chamber, more ominous and menacing than before. The ground beneath them trembled violently, and the roar of an approaching creature filled the air. The group immediately tensed, their instincts screaming at them that this was no ordinary monster.
