Chapter 337 Where's The Equality?

The clock on the wall ticked closer to 7:00 PM, the designated time for their next event. Allen and the girls gathered around, their faces filled with anticipation.

Their destination was Debaris, a town deep in the North city of Ront. Debaris was known as the loneliest city in Hell\'s Gate, an isolated outpost surrounded by treacherous high-level monster-infested maps. Only players who had reached level 60 were granted access to the teleportation service that led to this hidden gem.

It was a place where only the bravest and most skilled players dared to tread. The monsters here were not to be taken lightly, and one wrong move could mean the difference between life and death.

Allen, who was already in front of the portal, glanced at Jane and Vivian who seemed a bit disinterested and downcast. Larissa, Bella, and Alice stood beside them. They also looked a bit down, but Allen knew what was bothering them. It was the encounter with the Mummy King. The rumors of a handsome boss monster had ignited their curiosity, and they had eagerly anticipated facing the enigmatic creature. However, when the Mummy King revealed his true form - that of a decaying, mummified corpse - their expectations had been shattered.

They hadn\'t been able to accept the fact that the Mummy King looked like a mummy. They had even told him that they would be looking for information on other handsome monsters.

"Jane, Vivian, what\'s wrong? You both seem a bit off," Allen inquired, his voice laced with genuine concern.

Jane let out a sigh, her eyes distant as if she were contemplating some deep philosophical dilemma. "It\'s just... the lamias," she began, her voice tinged with frustration. "Why are there only female lamias? Why aren\'t there any male lamias? It just feels so unfair, you know? Where\'s the equality?" she added.

"Well, you see, lamias are a female mythological creature," Allen explained patiently, trying to shed some light on the matter. "In legends and stories, lamias are depicted as seductive female creatures with the upper body of a woman and the lower body of a serpent. It\'s just how they are portrayed in mythology."

She turned to Allen, her eyes fixed on him without enthusiasm.

"So? They can gender bender it. Or add some males. But they don\'t... This isn\'t fair!" she whined, her voice tinged with frustration.

Allen cringed inwardly. He had seen this side of her before - passionate and outspoken about issues she felt strongly about.

Trying to ease the tension, Allen decided to shift the focus and turned to Vivian, who had remained silent throughout the conversation. Her eyes were downcast, and she seemed lost in her thoughts.

"How about you, Vivian?" he asked gently, wanting to hear her perspective on the matter.

Vivian let out a soft sigh, her voice barely above a whisper. "I...I lost..." she muttered sadly, her head still lowered.

"Huh?" Allen said, curious about what was bothering his fellow player.

Vivian let out a soft sigh, her voice tinged with disappointment. "I\'m the queen of succubus, but I lost..." she muttered, her words barely audible.

Allen tilted his head, not fully understanding what she meant. "Lost to what?" he asked, hoping for some clarification.

"My...my size isn\'t as big as those lamias\'..." Vivian finally explained, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. Her hands went to her breasts.

Again, Allen cringed. "They\'re just monsters. You don\'t have to think much about it," Allen tried to comfort her.

"And my character is also just the game\'s avatar. Yet..." Vivian\'s voice trailed off, leaving an air of melancholy in her wake.

Allen frowned, sensing Vivian\'s disappointment. \'Considering monsters as rivals? Seriously?\' he thought in disbelief.

Wanting to lift Vivian\'s spirits, Allen turned to the mommy of the group and her daughter - Shea and Zoe. Shea was a mature woman and he thought that her fresh perspectives might help cheer Vivian up.

But to his surprise, Shea and Zoe seemed to be preoccupied with something else entirely. Their expressions were clouded with contemplation as if they were wrestling with a dilemma or concern. Allen couldn\'t help but wonder what could be troubling them.

He was about to ask a question but an announcement appeared in front of him.

[The war event will start soon. The Devil Emperor and his subordinates will attack the city of Debaris. The event will end in 30 minutes. Everyone who participates will get a 2X EXP bonus.]

Taking a deep breath, Allen gathered his companions around him. "Guys, just concentrate on the event, okay?" he reminded them, his voice firm but reassuring. "We have a fortress to defend, and we need to give it our all."

His words seemed to have the desired effect, as his team nodded in unison, determination shining in their eyes. Despite their thought, they understood the gravity of the task ahead and the need to stay focused.

Without further ado, Allen stepped confidently into the shimmering portal, his companions following suit. In an instant, their surroundings distorted, and they found themselves standing in front of a massive fortress to the west of the city.

The fortress was an imposing structure, its walls towering high, and its architecture evoking a sense of ancient grandeur. But there was no time to marvel at its design. A swarm of high-level players, their armor gleaming in the sunlight, charged at them with fierce determination.

In this event, the objective was simple - defend the fortress against the onslaught of rival players and enemy forces until the specified time limit. It was a test of their combat prowess, strategy, and teamwork.

"Let\'s get started, shall we?" Allen smirked, his eyes alight with excitement.

The battle began, and chaos ensued as players clashed, spells and attacks colliding in mid-air. Allen\'s team moved with precision, each member executing their role with flawless efficiency.
