Chapter 154.3: Monster Waves (Part-3)

With the <Mind Link>, none of their attacks overlapped or cancelled each other\'s attacks.

One by one, the monsters fell at a noticeable pace before they cleared the remaining monsters.

Besides assisting Andrea once with the <Stream Wind Sword> when she was in danger, he didn\'t interfere with their kills.

[Congratulations! Your team has successfully cleared the 9th Monster Wave.]

Dante (Lv.25) - 8470

Team Score: 1640826 (942540+698286{Bonus})

Olivia\'s performance didn\'t bring injustice to her position as the second strongest among the Earth\'s Alpha Chosen.

As for Dante, his score was second only to Olivia, which didn\'t surprise the others anymore.

Never once did he miss a shot. To those who weren\'t aware of Dante\'s ability, it would appear as if the monsters threw themselves into the path of his arrows.

Although they knew of Dante\'s ability to predict anyone\'s movements, it still felt magical for them to gain first-hand experience watching Dante shoot down monsters with gigantified arrows.

That solidified his position as the third strongest one among the hearts of the rest of the team.

Coming up next to Dante were Sergei and Brandon. Though it was Brandon, who scored higher than Sergei, that didn\'t mean he was the stronger one.

As a matter of fact, it was Sergei who obtained a higher Evaluation Score than Brandon in Round-1.

Their performances kept on often varying, making it harder to declare who was the strongest one out of those two.

Following them down the line were Kensei and Henry. While Kensei consistently maintained a slight edge over Henry in the past few days, Henry continued to see Kensei as his rival and wished nothing more than to score higher than him in Round-2.

For that, Henry planned to use the ace up his sleeve in the 10th Monster Wave.

Next to them were Kasim and Gabriel, with the former in the lead. Gabriel\'s previous excitement evaporated without a trace when his individual contribution score within the team was pushed down to the bottom three.

If Gabriel\'s score from the previous Monster Wave was not included, he wouldn\'t be any different from Min-soo and Andrea, whose scores were the lowest in the team.

Rather than outright attacking the monsters, those two supported the rest of them since that wasn\'t considered a contribution in Round-2, which led to their low scores despite being at higher levels.

Jay didn\'t even look at his Individual Contribution Score, unlike the others. Instead, he focussed on recovering Spirit Energy to his peak before the 10-minute break could end.

Since anyone could bring the Magical Fruits and Spirit Crystals to the Reality Emulator, using those within the Reality Emulator will also apply the respective effects in the shared virtual space.

Jay used a bunch of Grade-3 Spirit Crystals to recover the lost Spirit Energy and not the Spirit Fruits. He did that to save those for later.

With so many Grade-3 Spirit Fruits in his possession, Jay could eat away as many as he wanted without worrying about using them all up.

However, if he uses a bunch of those at that moment, he would have to wait an hour or so before using them again to avoid receiving temporary attribute debuff.

Whereas the rest of the Earth\'s Alpha Chosen directly used the Spirit, Vitality and Stamina Fruits without worrying about saving them for later.

After all, they had to face 100 Tier-4 Low-Phase monsters in the upcoming Monster Wave.

Not to talk about a hundred, other than Jay, no one else in the team could defeat even a single monster.

Even for Jay, it would be pretty hard to survive against a horde of such powerful monsters.

If Jay hadn\'t briefed them on his brilliant plan, they wouldn\'t have believed it would even be possible to survive the 10th Monster Wave.

When there were three minutes left before the 10-minute break, Jay commenced his plan and began to extend the area of \'Thunder Miasma Field\' until it enveloped the rest of the barren battlefield.

Other than the five-meter radius around them, the entire battlefield space was filled with Thunder Miasma, including the area 250 meters above the ground level.

When it was ten seconds before the break ended, Jay opened door-sized tunnel pathways within the \'Thunder Miasma Field\'.

A total of ten tunnels, one for each member of the team. As soon as Jay created them, the Earth\'s Alpha Chosen dispersed into those tunnels according to the plan.

In just a few seconds, they all reached the spots Jay had designated for them and then he closed up those tunnels with Thunder Miasma.

Although the Earth\'s Alpha Chosen were separated, they could communicate through Olivia\'s <Mind Link>.

Except for the ten small area spots, the entire barren battlefield was submerged in the Thunder Miasma Field.

As for Jay, he didn\'t stay there itself since the emulated monsters were always keen on reaching the center of the battlefield.

However, for himself, Jay didn\'t create any tunnels to traverse through the Thunder Miasma Field.

After all, unlike the others, he didn\'t have to worry about coming into contact with Thunder Miasma.

Soon, the 10th Monster Wave commenced, and despite being able to sense nothing around them, the 100 Tier-4 Low-Phase monsters rushed through the Thunder Miasma Field to the center of the battlefield.

However, not one of those monsters passed through the spots where the Earth\'s Alpha Chosen stood.

It was no coincidence but a part of the plan. Besides Jay, Dante played a crucial role in that plan.

With Dante\'s ability to sense their attack and path trajectories for the next minute, Jay could create more tunnels within the Thunder Misama Field in such a way that they could avoid the monsters and their attacks.

It wouldn\'t be wrong to say that Dante was the heart of the plan.

When the monsters reached the center and hadn\'t found their supposed targets, they let out enraged roars and rampaged their surroundings with AoE attacks.

However, the effectiveness of those skills was cut down by more than 25% within the \'Thunder Miasma Field\'.

Thanks to Dante\'s ability, everyone was already out of the major impact range of those barrage of attacks.

However, most of the Earth\'s Alpha Chosen didn\'t go unscathed and lost a small portion of their emulated health bars.

Since it was impossible to evade everything within the limited area of the battleground, they already knew something like that would eventually happen.

So, they intended to keep the damage received as minimal as possible.

That continued for the next five minutes as the sense-deprived monsters roamed around, attacking blindly in retaliation for the unending stream of attacks from palm-sized grey thunderbolts.

Other than creating more tunnels to allow his fellow team members to escape from the rampaging monsters, Jay divided his attention to direct the grey thunderbolts onto the monsters.

With the speed and attack power double that of the Thunder Flame, 28 monsters succumbed to them, and the rest lost a good chunk of their emulated health bars.

That made Jay think of something crazy. He saw hope, the possibility of finishing the rest of the monsters by the end of the 10-minute duration and clearing the 10th Monster Wave.

If they managed to pull it off, the score received would be even more substantial. After weighing the risks and benefits, Jay decided to go with it and shared his improvised plan with the rest of the team.
