Chapter 166.3: A Faraway Enemy (Part-3)

The way Zeix differentiated who was the strongest in each Trial Region depended on the resources gathered in their respective storage space Spirit Equipment.

Those who managed to obtain a storage Spirit Equipment were elites, and amongst them, those who had gathered the rarest collection of resources were considered the best in each Trial Region.

Under Urzo\'s control, Zeix transported \'Possession Contracts\' into the storage space Spirit Equipment of those they deemed the strongest of each Trial Region.

That way, Urzo implanted a Possession Seed in Rex and used him to expand his control over Jay\'s Trial Region.

When he learned about the Earth\'s Alpha Chosen and their performance in Round-1, Urzo turned his attention toward them and intended to possess them all by the end of the 1st Tournament, especially the Omega Chosen, Olivia.

But to Urzo\'s surprise, an Earth\'s Alpha Chosen came knocking at Rex\'s doorstep, and the opportunity he was waiting for had arrived sooner than he expected.

Little did he know about Jay, who had a hold over Olivia\'s Innate Talent was an absolute counter to his abilities. If Urzo had known beforehand, he would never have taken over Rex\'s body to confront Jay.

Alas, there wasn\'t any medicine for his regret at that point. Urzo could only hope to talk Jay into releasing the pair of Possession Seeds because the cost of losing them was adamant to losing two 1/100th portions of his soul forever.

Although it didn\'t amount to much at a glimpse, the loss will grow substantially at higher Innate Talent Mastery stages.

Since two of the 100 Possession Seeds were destroyed when he was at Stage-3, it would lead to losing 20 Possession Seeds at Stage-4 due to the partial damage to his soul.

At Stage-5, that would amount to losing 200 Possession Seeds, and the loss would be 10 times greater for every higher stage.

At that rate, if Urzo were to reach Stage-9 in the future, he would have a massive loss of 2 million Possession Seeds.

Keeping that in mind, he tried to negotiate but unfortunately for Urzo, he wasn\'t in a position to do so when facing Jay.

While Urzo pondered how the other party knew about him, Jay contemplated what to do with his assailant.

There were three options in front of him. The first and rather forthlooking option for Jay was to obliterate those two Possession Seeds for trying to possess him.

But doing so would only damage a minor part of Urzo soul and wouldn\'t kill him in the process. That would only lead to making an irreconcilable enemy out of one of the top Alpha Rankers, who has the ability to mass-possess living beings.

The second one was to offer Urzo an ORIGIN SIGIL and bring him under control. But it was a long shot since Jay needs the other party\'s consent to make them an ORIGIN SIGIL holder.

Due to Urzo possessing a Grade-9 Innate Talent, Jay\'s offer wouldn\'t be appealing enough for him to place his life in others\' hands for just some extra stats unless Jay was willing to give a Major ORIGIN SIGIL.

With only seven of them left, Jay was inclined towards saving the Major ORIGIN SIGILS for the right candidates.

Moreover, if Urzo were to reject the offer after Jay revealed the ORIGIN SIGILS, it wouldn\'t be long before Jay\'s ability to improve Innate Talent\'s Grade would spread wide, and that would spell nothing but trouble to Jay.

As for the final option, it was to let Urzo\'s consciousness go unscathed and stand on neutral ground with him.

Although that wasn\'t what Jay desired, he knew that letting go of Urzo would be a wise choice.

After all, once the Tournament ends, the system barriers among the Trial Zones in each Trial Region would be lifted but not the ones that separate Trial Regions.

For those to be lifted off as well, it would take ten more days after the 1st Tournament, which would also be right after the 2nd Tournament concludes on Day-20.

If Jay were to outright make an enemy out of Urzo, the other party would have enough time and resources to amass Alpha Chosen by taking control over several other Trial Zones.

With only one chance left to use <INVERSE> mode, travelling through several Trial Region barriers and taking care of this faraway enemy in one fell swoop was out of option for Jay.

After self-debating on how to deal with his assailant, Jay left the choice to Urzo.

He used the skill <True Self> on Urzo\'s consciousness, the same skill he used on Moro a few days ago.

Leaving the part about ORIGIN SIGILS, Jay presented Urzo with the three options he had in mind and waited for the other party\'s genuine answer.

Under the skill\'s effect, Urzo revealed his real intentions in a monotonous tone, \'It doesn\'t matter whether you leave me unharmed or not. With how strong you are, it is just a matter of time before you hinder my ambition to rule over the Trial World. Whether it be underhanded methods or immoral ways, I will use them all to cut you down before you can grow even stronger.\'

Urzo\'s wild ambitions made it clear there was no room for the second and third options.

Jay let out a long sigh as he dispelled <True Self> skill\'s effect, and Urzo\'s consciousness regained normalcy without any recollection of his previous conversation with Jay.

Jay\'s voice resounded within his Spirit Space, \'Since you are so adamant about becoming my enemy, let me be the one to strike first.\'

As soon as Jay\'s words ended, one of the two Possession Seeds was blasted apart by a golden beam from <SOUL EYES> Innate Talent, leaving Urzo to wail in pain.

Although that was just a hundredth part of his Soul, it still was excruciatingly painful, not to mention the permanent setback of his possession abilities caused by the irrecoverable damage to his soul.

Urzo\'s previous facade wore off as he roared at Jay with hatred, \'Just you wait; I shall make you feel 100 times the pain you have inflicted on me.\'

Right before Jay destroyed the other Possession Seed, he retorted, \'I doubt you could bring me pain I haven\'t already experienced before.\'
