Transmigrating as the Younger Sister of a Bigshot with Multiple Identities

Chapter 707: The Surgery Was Successful

Chapter 707: The Surgery Was Successful

There were many people spreading rumors, but Qiu Baizhou was fearless. If he couldn’t sue them all, he would find others who could. As a top lawyer at Song Bai Law Firm and a professor at Jin City University’s law department, he had the resources and influence to make a significant impact.

Qiu Baizhou decided to turn the lawsuit against these self-media outlets into an end-of-term practice for his law students. This would not only motivate the students but also provide a real-world example of legal accountability. By involving the entire law department in suing the marketing accounts that spread rumors, he aimed to set a precedent and clean up the self-media circle.

A real reporter should pursue the truth and report facts, not make wild guesses to attract attention. Not everyone deserves to hold a microphone and pretend to be a reporter.

Thus, before the media outlets could milk the situation for more traffic, they received a lawyer’s letter from Song Bai Law Firm. Known for their intimidating legal notices, a letter from Song Bai was often more daunting than a court summons—it was essentially a prison pass.

After the English exam ended, Zhu Di and her friends learned about the situation online and grew worried about Gu Yang and her family. They formed a group and went to the hospital.

Gu Yang briefly updated them on Ruan Xueling’s condition, reassuring them not to worry, and persuaded them to go home. She explained that the hospital needed to remain quiet and too many people would cause a disturbance.

Three hours later, the door of the operating theater finally opened.

Gu Jin walked out, looking exhausted. Everyone quickly gathered around her.

Gu Zhaoming and Gu Pei eagerly asked, “How did the surgery go?”

Gu Yang handed a bottle of mineral water to Gu Jin. “Sister is also very tired. Let her drink some water to calm down first.”

Gu Zhaoming noticed the fatigue in Gu Jin’s eyes. “Yes, yes. I was too anxious. Jin, sit down and rest for a while.”

Gu Jin unscrewed the cap and took a sip of water. “The operation was very successful.”

“Okay, that’s great,”

Gu Zhaoming and Gu Pei heaved a sigh of relief and finally smiled.

After Ruan Xueling’s surgery was successful, she was transferred to the intensive care unit for observation.

Since the ICU did not allow family members to stay, Gu Zhaoming drove the four children home and then went to visit Old Master Ruan.

Originally, there was supposed to be a graduation gathering for their class that night, celebrating the end of the college entrance examination. However, given the situation with the Gu family, Gu Yang and her siblings couldn’t attend, and Zhu Di and the rest were not in the mood to celebrate either.

Gu Yang later heard that when the leaders of First High School found out that the three of them handed in their exams an hour early, they were so shocked they cried until they fainted in the restroom.

Two days later, Ruan Xueling was transferred from the ICU to a regular ward and had already woken up. To ensure her comfort, Gu Zhaoming arranged for her to stay in a private VIP ward to recuperate.

The early summer sun shone through the glass into the ward, illuminating several bouquets of pink carnations on the bedside table.

Ruan Xueling leaned against the bed while Gu Zhaoming sat beside her, gently feeding her porridge.

When Gu Yang and her siblings arrived and pushed open the ward door, they saw this serene scene. It was an ordinary morning, yet it felt unusually warm, as if they had just survived a calamity.

“Mom,” Gu Jin called out softly.

Ruan Xueling looked up, slightly stunned to see Gu Jin walking toward her. In her memory, Gu Jin rarely called her ‘mom.’

Ruan Xueling could sense that Gu Jin’s attitude toward her and Zhaoming differed from her attitude toward Yangyang. Gu Jin truly treated Yangyang as her younger sister, while she seemed to view Ruan Xueling and Zhaoming more as Yangyang’s family rather than her own parents.
