MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter

Chapter 214: Harvest and Pruning the Decayed Branches (Additional Update with 2050 Monthly Tickets)

In general, grinding elites wasn’t as beneficial as it seemed, and Li Yao was not particularly satisfied with the overall leveling results.

But the key factor was the 10% experience gained from the boss and the 1% from slaying the elites, which collectively provided a substantial 35% boost.

In comparison, the experience gained from elites seemed trivial. This was the mechanism of the ancient gods – the tougher the monster you challenged, the more rewarding the outcome.

Of course, there was a massive risk involved, like with this Wolf King, which was practically invincible with its thousands of minions by his side.

Even if players were to gang up and attempt to take it down, the losses would likely outweigh the gains.

Only Li Yao, using this unique method, could reap such rich rewards. Now that he was well-off, spending a few dozen Gold Coins was just a drop in the ocean for him.

His strategy was to buy loyalty, experience, time, and everything else he could with Gold Coin, to rapidly consolidate and develop his guild and close the gap with larger guilds as quickly as possible.

The guild members who couldn’t make it to the event were going crazy on the guild channel.

“I’ve been asking to join the party numerous times, I really have some urgent matters to attend to.”

“Exactly, who doesn’t get unexpectedly busy sometimes? Why can’t we rejoin after leaving? What kind of rule is this?”

“We were among the first batch of members in the guild. Aren’t we supposed to be nurtured?”

“Damn it, add me back to the party! I just went with the flow and didn’t mean to quit.”

“Guild master, are you dead? Add me back.”

Li Yao casually responded, “Don’t speak to me in such a sneaky tone. I am not your parents; I won’t indulge you.”

“Damn, you lured us into this guild and then abandoned us?”

“That’s favoritism.”

“What a crappy guild, I’m leaving if I don’t get re-invited.”

“Exactly, any guild would fight over a pro player like me.”

“You pricks, do you understand the risks involved in venturing into the Endless Plains? And considering your suggestion, are you implying that we should delay everyone’s leveling time just to babysit you?” retorted the Archangel with a cold snicker.

“Aren’t we all in the same guild? Shouldn’t we help each other?”

“Exactly, we’re all guild members and should assist each other.”

“How much time would it take for you to guide us back there?”

“Go screw yourselves!” someone cursed. “The Guild Master didn’t want us talking about this, but I can’t stand it. Even if we genuinely had to babysit you, what’s the deal with leaving the guild? Take a look at yourselves, you make me sick pretending to be victims. I’ve noted you guys, and I won’t ever form a party with you scumbags.”

“I can’t hold it back either. What are you guys, blaming the Guild Master? Really.”

“How is it that everywhere you go ends up with scum like you guys?

“How can you guys be so shameless when we’re going easy on you?”

“All right, enough bickering. Let’s just get back to work. The Guild Master is using his own funds to level everyone up, we shouldn’t allow him to suffer losses.” Sister Li said.

Members promptly began descending the ropes and gathering materials. Most of them were elites and very handy in crafting Green Equip. With some luck, the materials could yield Blue Equip and fetch a reasonably good price on the market.

“Damn, what a shitty guild!”

“I’m leaving if I don’t get re-invited!”

“Give the Guild Master three minutes. If he doesn’t re-invite me, I’m leaving.”

“Three minutes aren’t necessary. Three seconds are enough.” Li Yao promptly kicked this guy out of the guild, saying, “As I said, leaving the guild was voluntary, and there are no hard feelings. You guys didn’t hesitate at all to leave. I’ve also transported you back to the main city. Initially, we could have continued getting along well, but your current behavior is making me sick. You call yourselves pro players? If all the pros behaved like you, the world would be doomed.”

“Damn these selfish individuals. They truly consider themselves indispensable. Let’s kick them out, can’t stand their stink. With this clear rift, having them in the guild will only spell trouble.” the Archangel commented.

“They should not be allowed to stay. Otherwise, they’ll cause internal strife and conflict.” Sister Li also chimed in.

“As you can see, I didn’t want things to escalate to this, but since it has, you should leave on your own accord. Let’s part amicably.” Li Yao suggested.

“Guild Master, please don’t! I didn’t complain!”

“That was just a joke earlier, don’t take it so seriously.”

“We’re just jesting, no harm meant.”

“You’re taking things a bit too seriously.”

They were still drooling over the items in the warehouse, trying to figure out ways to earn points and get their hands on them. If they chose to leave now, they would lose everything. Other guilds didn’t have such impressive storage or benefits.

“Stop nauseating me, okay? Let’s part amicably, you’ve got three minutes. If any of you choose not to leave, our council members will begin the purging.” Li Yao responded without much care for their please.

“Damn, this junk guild, I wanted to leave ages ago.”

“Fine, leave then. You think I want to stay in this crappy guild?”

“You guys seriously overlooked me, a pro player? What horrific taste.”

“This shit guild is doomed.”

“Let’s go, we should battle them on the forums.”

“Right, let’s hire some internet armies to tarnish them.”

Li Yao simply chuckled and said, “Well, you better hurry. I’m just worried that we’re not well-known enough.”

Once all pretenses had been cast aside, Li Yao also dropped any semblance of courtesy and began purging members with the rest of the guild.

“Finally, a tranquil world,” sighed the Archangel with relief.

“Peaceful, my ass! Get down and start gathering materials.” Li Yao kicked the Archangel down.

“You bastard!” the Archangel reacted quickly and grabbed onto a rope just before hitting the ground. Otherwise, he would have been a goner from such a high distance.

Li Yao also jumped down and started gathering the three boss drops along with several elites.

Any materials dropped by beasts above level 10 can be crafted into epic purple equipment, while those from elites are guaranteed to yield Blue Equip with a small chance of turning into purple. All of them were valuable materials.

Moreover, there were also some enhancement stones. The loot was bountiful: just the six tusks could be crafted into six decent epic-level daggers. Grind them into fine powder, and you’ve got rare alchemy and engineering materials.

By continuing this method, these materials could certainly nurture a few outstanding tailoring or leatherworking masters.

Li Yao mentioned, “We’ve gotten six epic-level tusks. This time, aside from myself, the top three DPS will each get one tusk as a reward. As for melee players, you’re just side-actors this time. Wait for the next opportunity.”

The group burst into laughter, their spirits immediately lifted.

“Each Wolf King tusk is equivalent to an epic dagger. Sister Li, the newcomer Mu Zi, and Clumsy Eyes, you three can get one tusk each from the guild storage after the leveling event. I’ve given you authorization.”

Newcomer Mu Zi was taken aback. He didn’t expect this windfall. An epic weapon was incredibly valuable, especially a level 10 one. He couldn’t contain his excitement.

“Don’t be disappointed, everyone. I’m about to draw out the second round of monsters. Excluding the three who’ve received rewards, the top three from the next round of DPS will still receive tusks as rewards,” Li Yao announced.

Upon hearing Li Yao’s words, the ranged-damage players lit up with enthusiasm. They still had a chance, while the melee fighters could only watch with longing, knowing they stood no chance…
