The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 164: 164:Engagement Gift

Messages began popping up one after another, their urgency mirrored by the rapid pounding of his heart.

His fingers trembled uncontrollably, and for a moment, everything else around him blurred into insignificance. He shook his head and struggled to clear his mind, clicking on the first notification.

SWOOSH!

The screen went blank for a brief second before a horrifying image appeared.

A video of Noah himself, drenched in blood.

The scene was chilling. In it, Noah's figure loomed coldly as he directed his men to deliver drugs. The video transitioned through various scenes of violence and intimidation, portraying Noah as unflinching in his ruthlessness.

In one scene, Noah could be seen glaring coldly at a woman, raising a crowbar and striking it down on her hand, as he growled, "Bitch, since your man is too keen to snoop his nose into our matters, let's send him a piece of his beloved."

The sequence continued with a series of brutal acts, each more disturbing than the last. Noah's mind was overwhelmed by the grim revelations, the weight of the images pressing heavily upon him.

Suddenly, a loud gasp echoed through the hall, followed by a scream. Noah's head snapped up, his eyes wide with shock. One of the guests trembled and pointed a finger in his direction while crying out, "MONSTER!"

"WHAT!"

Soon, more rings started echoing and everyone's phones at the same time started receiving the message. As soon as the guest saw the video, a deadly chill crept into their hearts.

There were some things that everyone was aware of, but when such things came to the limelight, the effect would be quite drastic.

Sonalia stood there confused for a moment until one of her servants walked towards her hurriedly and showed her the videos playing on the screen.

She almost shrieked in panic and shouted, "Noah… what the hell is going on?"

"Is there a mole under you?"

"A mole..." Noah paused and raised his head to meet Evan's gaze, who just stood there silently and gave him a wink as if asking.

"Did you like the gift mate?"

The next moment, Evan walked away while holding Suri's arms and whispered something before pulling her toward the car. However, before entering the vehicle, he turned back to meet Noah with a smile.

"Evan..." Noah muttered under his breath, his voice barely audible amidst the rising turmoil within him. The pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place, revealing a sinister picture that Noah couldn't ignore.

As the implications sank in, Noah's expression darkened with a mix of dread and realization sweeping over him. He looked up, scanning the place for any sign of Evan, but he had already disappeared into the crowd.

The smile Evan had flashed before leaving lingered in Noah's mind, a smile that now seemed to be laden with hidden motives and calculated intent. It was a smile that had shattered any illusion of trust and camaraderie, leaving Noah grappling with the unsettling truth he had uncovered.

"How?"

The question swirled in his mind like a whirlwind.

Just then, Mohan walked towards Noah with a flustered expression. The sudden turn of events had clearly shaken him.

He was sent here by the superior and honestly, he didn't want to get involved in these games. Being someone experienced enough, he knew that all of this was a game of young masters trying to pin one another.

"Sorry, Mr.Noah. It seems you need to come with us. With so many people having watched this, I can't overlook it."

_____

Meanwhile, a short distance away from the crowd, a group of people stood there with a dazed expression.

It was the Biswas family, who retreated with Daniel holding Jay who looked utterly confused. In fact, in the plan, Jay was going to take the lead to accuse Evan but he was called back, no rather, he was dragged back by Daniel.

Now that he saw the scene that unfolded before his eyes, his mind almost exploded into tatters.

"See, this is why I told you to befriend him and not him your enemy."

Elena's cold voice cut through the tension, sending chills down Darpan and Jay's spines.

Jay swallowed his saliva nervously while Darpan stared ahead with an inexplicable gaze.

The reason he didn't pursue the conflict with Evan previously was because of his wife's suggestion, that he should just give the money to earn goodwill.

And now, he was glad that he had, he too was afraid of such an enemy.

In today's world, anyone who could control the cyber and digital world wasn't someone that old people like him should mess with otherwise.

He looked at vivid images of Noah. There were many videos but it wasn't the cruelest of all which made him think that Evan still held back.

Looking at Noah's downfall, Darpan couldn't help but whisper in a frightful tone, "He let him go…it seems he plans to slowly tear him apart."

_____

VROOOM!

"Why did you let him go?"

SWOOSH!

A sleek car hurtled through the night streets, slicing through the highway. Instead of heading home, Evan veered the car into a quiet, winding road. The cool breeze whipped through the open windows.

Suri, seated beside him, turned her gaze sharply towards Evan, her brow furrowed with concern as she pressed, "Why did you let him go?"

Evan's lips curled into a smirk as he gripped the steering wheel tightly after hearing Suri's advice.

"We should always cut the roots. You should have shown something more gruesome and fierce. That way, the law wouldn't be able to let him go easily."

The next moment Suri's eyes widened in disbelief as she heard Evan, "Is this even possible?"

Evan burst into a mirthful laugh and shook his head slightly. "With the Rajputs involved in this, do you think law and order matters anymore? All of this can be swept under the rug with a few petty charges while the media will easily handle the rest…"

His voice trailed off as he reflected, his gaze drifting out the window, memories flickered across his face. A shadow of nostalgia passed his features.
