Skill Forge: Broken Extra Character

Chapter 90 Trial 3 III

"We can\'t let her show us up now, can we?" Rey remarked with a determined grin, glancing at Cedric and Elora. His eyes sparked with renewed energy as he prepared to unleash his own might.

[Inferno]

With a wave of his hand, a massive wave of searing flames erupted around Rey, consuming the monsters that had dared to surround them. The flames roared, their intense heat turning the beasts to ash in mere moments. But Rey wasn\'t done. "Master Dragon, go!" he commanded.

The formidable dragon soared forward, its majestic wings casting shadows over the battlefield. It opened its maw, releasing a torrent of pure flames that incinerated the remnants of Rey\'s Inferno, ensuring not a single monster remained.

Elora was quick to follow, her Death Wolf leaping into the fray, its form glowing red as it tore through the remaining enemies with feral precision.

Meanwhile, Cedric stood as the team\'s unyielding defense, his Forge Turtle steadfastly blocking any attack that dared approach.

The turtle\'s molten shell shimmered with every strike it absorbed, while Cedric\'s hammer crashed down with devastating force, crushing any monsters that slipped past their fiery onslaught. The three of them fought with a fluidity that spoke of their camaraderie, holding their own with ease.

[Confinement]

On the other side of the battlefield, Matthew had the monsters confined, their movements restricted by his earth-shaping powers. The ground trembled under his command, trapping the enemies in a tight, inescapable space. "Leave it to me!" Morrigan shouted, her voice ringing with determination. {Earth\'s Hatred}

Sharp, conical spikes of earth burst forth from the ground, impaling the trapped monsters. The earth itself seemed to rise against them, turning the battlefield into a deadly maze of jagged stone. But as effective as her skill was, it left the flying monsters untouched.

[Falling Meteor]

Matthew, ever the strategist, was ready. With a sweeping gesture, he summoned fiery meteors from the sky, each one crashing down with devastating force inside the earthen trap he\'d set.

The monsters that had taken to the skies were obliterated in an instant, their screams drowned out by the roar of the meteor shower.

The time ticked down, but the group was making significant progress.

"Let\'s keep this up, guys! We can actually make it," Rey encouraged, his voice brimming with confidence as they pushed forward, the team invigorated by their success.

While Rey and Matthew\'s teams focused on annihilating their foes, Jett and Finn\'s team had a different role.

Acting as bait, they drew the relentless undead away, ensuring Freya could remain in position for another strike if needed. The undead swarmed toward them, driven by a mysterious force that seemed to bind them to Jett and Finn.

Jett\'s eyes scanned the battlefield, calculating each move with precision. He wasn\'t one to shy away from danger, especially not when so much was at stake.

His usual nonchalance had given way to a sharper, more focused demeanor, one that inspired those around him to push themselves even harder. Finn, despite his earlier fear, found himself stepping up, coordinating with Jett to keep the undead at bay.

As the teams continued their efforts, they couldn\'t help but glance up at Freya from time to time, the question still burning in their minds: How had she, of all people, managed to wield such devastating power?

The answer would have to wait, though, as the battle raged on, each moment crucial in their fight for survival and victory.

Freya meticulously aimed her attacks, making sure to avoid any area near Asher or Jett, mindful of their dark attributes that could be affected negatively by her attacks.

Despite the care she took, she still managed to decimate the majority of the undead, alternating between spells and skills as she swiftly switched between aiding Finn and Jett. Her attacks were relentless, a barrage of holy energy that tore through the horde like a cleansing fire.

"I don\'t know what happened to Freya, but thank goodness she\'s here," Finn sighed in relief, his tension easing as he watched the undead fall one by one under her onslaught.

"If we keep this up, we\'re sure to win this!" Matthew shouted, his voice laced with both determination and exhaustion. He was running dangerously low on MP, his mana reserves nearly depleted.

With a shaky hand, he downed one of Marcella\'s pills, feeling a sudden rush of energy surge through him. But even with the boost, he knew it would take a while for his MP to recover fully. The others were in a similar state, their bodies and minds pushed to their limits.

"My MP is down, my Mana too. All I have left is my Aura," Rey huffed, his breath coming in ragged gasps. He too took the pills Marcella had provided, the small respite giving him just enough strength to keep going. He signaled to Elora and Cedric to cover him while he regained his strength.

Both Finn and Jett\'s teams, however, found themselves with a different task. They didn\'t need to engage in the same ferocious combat as Rey and the others.

Instead, their role was to herd the undead, drawing them into a concentrated space where Freya could unleash her holy judgment with devastating efficiency.

Jett and Finn directed their teams to corral the undead, forcing them into tighter and tighter groups.

The undead, mindlessly following their innate hatred for both Finn and Rey, fell into the trap, clustering together in a perfect formation for Freya\'s next strike. All Jett\'s team had to do was hold the line, keeping the undead contained while Freya did the heavy lifting.

Freya, however, was nearing her limit. Her mana and MP were completely depleted, her body trembling with exhaustion. Lumina, sensing her master\'s fatigue, encircled her with a protective barrier of radiant light, shielding her from any incoming attacks.

The phoenix\'s luminous wings fluttered gently, its aura keeping Freya safe as she tried to catch her breath.

But the respite was short-lived. More undead were pouring in, their numbers seemingly endless.

"Can\'t her pet take out these guys?" Aiden asked, his voice tinged with desperation as he glanced up at the glowing phoenix.

Lumina was powerful, but even a creature as magnificent as the Lumina Phoenix had its limits. The protective aura around Freya was strong, but Lumina\'s offensive capabilities were waning, drained by the constant battle and the sheer number of enemies.

The phoenix could fend off the immediate threats, but taking down the new wave of undead would require more than just its power alone.

"That\'s what she\'s doing right now," Jett explained, pointing towards Lumina, who was diving in their direction, her wings glowing with a soft yet fierce light.

"But doesn\'t that phoenix look tired?" Asher observed, noticing the strain in Lumina\'s movements, the slight droop in her wings as she continued to protect Freya.

"Working on it," Jett replied calmly, his mind already forming a solution. He prepared to send a message to Rey, through the academy ring that they all had with them.

-Jett- "Send your dragon here."

-Rey- "But we need him here."

-Jett- "Just do it, the undead are more than the normal monsters anyways."

Rey hesitated, knowing the importance of Master Dragon in holding the line against the monstrous horde surrounding his team. But he trusted Jett\'s judgment and reluctantly sent Master Dragon to assist Finn.

Although Master Dragon didn\'t possess the light attribute, it was imbued with the holy attribute, making it incredibly effective against the undead and demons.

The dragon\'s twin flames, one of which was the holy flame, were devastating against such foes. The holy flame, in particular, burned with a purifying intensity that could obliterate the undead in an instant.

Lumina, on the other hand, wielded both the light and holy attributes, making her an even greater force against the undead.

She too could conjure the holy flame, and as she and Master Dragon dived down together, their combined assault was nothing short of cataclysmic.

The battlefield below them erupted in a storm of purifying fire, the undead screeching as they were incinerated by the relentless blaze.

"Amazing. Makes me kinda jealous," Asher admitted with a nervous smirk as he witnessed the sheer destructive power of Lumina\'s flames.

"Kinda? I\'m totally jealous," Evelina mused, her eyes wide with awe as the flames engulfed the undead horde.

Only 27,941 enemies remained. By this time, Freya had recovered enough to prepare for the final assault.

With her strength restored, there was no longer any need for Master Dragon to stay with Finn\'s group.

The dragon, its duty fulfilled, roared as it ascended back into the sky, leaving behind a trail of scorched earth and vanquished foes.

Master Dragon returned to Rey, who was ready to make the final push with his team, knowing that they were now on the brink of victory.

Freya, with Lumina by her side, was poised to deliver the final, decisive blow that would end the trial once and for all.
