How can I justify myself as a Magnate if I don't indulge myself?

Chapter 60: Let’s have a brief chat about this book, a must-read for readers.

Firstly, about character design, I believe readers who have made it this far should be very clear that I’m writing about an ordinary person who loves to show off slowly growing after getting a "system." Gu Heng’s intention to rent a car to show off when he arrives home was clearly set from the first chapter.

As for those roasts about the protagonist being a loser, I can accept them with an open heart.

Secondly, regarding the female characters introduced, He Jing, Lin Jiayun, and Xiao Lan—these three characters were unintentionally settled on when I was skimming through TikTok at the start of writing this book.

Many complained that these three women are ugly, but if everyone just changed their perspective and saw them as virtual original characters, couldn’t you just project your favorite internet celebrities onto them?

Because in my setting for this book, there isn’t a true female lead, nor is it even a harem tale—it’s just a novel about leveling up.

There are many supporting female characters that will appear, such as "internet celebrities," "college students," "urban white-collar workers," and in the future, "models," "stars," and so forth—various roles I have or haven’t thought of yet. Internet celebrities are just one type among many female roles; there’s really no need to fuss over a few characters.

Thirdly, plot development—this is what concerns me the most among the criticisms. As you can see, this is a very traditional feel-good, rich guy novel. When I started this book, I didn’t add any brain-burning plots or gimmicks. Given the prevalence of such storytelling at the moment, I thought this book would just be about clocking in regularly.

But looking at the data now, it has somewhat exceeded my expectations.

Truth be told, isn’t the best kind of feel-good novel exactly the kind that leaves you feeling exhilarated? They’re intended as an easy way to pass the time. I try to write with some logic, and I ask you to be more generous with your tolerance.

Fourthly, regarding updates, since this book got recommended quite late, updating frequently wasn’t possible. Two chapters a day at four to five thousand words each is indeed tricky, but now that the book has reached over a hundred thousand words, it will likely go on sale within these 10 days.

Once the book is on sale, I’ll try to update as much as I can write. During the new book launch phase, I hope you will keep up with reading and not just stockpile the chapters... Reader engagement metrics are really so important...

About the idea of Crowdfunding for ideas for the novel.

I don’t really want to incorporate a business storyline, just a simple feel-good tale about how wealthy people have fun.

But personally, I might be a bit lacking in ideas, so I’m thinking of crowdfunding suggestions. If you’ve ever fantasized about what you’d do if you were rich, I’ll open a pinned post in the comments section where you can share your thoughts.

I’ll choose ideas with the most likes and then do my best to materialize them with my writing.

Additionally, if any of you have feedback about the book, you are welcome to voice it in the comments section. I pride myself on being open to advice; if a chapter gets a bad response, I immediately replace it with an alternative plot from my draft.

But please, don’t resort to personal attacks. I’m sensitive, and it breaks my defenses.

If you’ve made it this far, I hope your hands itching for wealth will leave a "1" here. I want to see how many people are reading.

The Novel will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
