Chapter 223 : 223:Ambush[III]
Her voice was cold and sharp, and the agents immediately sprang into action, searching the incapacitated attackers for any information.
Suri\'s gaze remained sharp as she observed the aftermath, her mind already calculating the next steps. The chaos around her was nothing new for her to witness; she had experienced sneak attacks like these a few times, but this was the first time when someone had tried to kill her blatantly.
"Let\'s move," she commanded, her voice firm.
As she gave orders, Suri glanced back at the van and sighed, "Haa! It seems now I have to find new people."
She muttered under her breath, "It\'s too tiresome.."

Somewhere outside Indra…
The dimly lit room felt suffocating since the air was thick with tension.
Bare black concrete walls surrounded a single wooden chair placed in the center, where a man sat bound, his wrists secured tightly with coarse rope. A flickering bulb cast unsettling shadows overhead, emphasizing the grim atmosphere.
A man with a twisted smile stood in the corner of the room, accompanied by a woman.
The man\'s facial features bore a faint resemblance to that of Suri\'s. The reason?
He was her brother—her brother from another mother.
His name, Paul Barret.
Paul leaned against the wall, his face a mix of impatience and menace. His mother, Rena Barret, stood across from the captive, her gaze piercing and cold as she assessed him.
"Let\'s cut to the chase," Rena said, her voice cold and authoritative. "We know you have the password to open that thing. We need it."
The captive glared at her defiantly. "You won\'t get anything from me."
Paul stepped forward, the tension in the room palpable. "You think you can hold out a long enough and stall time for your people to find out? We\'ve got time, and I can make this very unpleasant for you."
Rena interjected, her tone turning sinister. "You were close to him. You know what we need. If you don\'t cooperate, you\'ll regret it."
The man shifted in his chair, anxiety creeping into his eyes. "I don\'t know anything."
Paul clenched his fists, his patience was wearing thin with each moment. "We\'ve set up a trap for Suri. Once we have the password, we can use it to access everything. We\'ll take her down, and soon we will have the entire Barrett fortune in our hands. Do you think anyone would have the power to oppose us after that? Choose sides wisely, you piece of shit."
As the interrogation continued, the captive\'s resolve began to crack under their relentless questioning. Just as he was about to speak, the phone on the table buzzed violently, cutting through the tension.
"Sir, we have a problem."
Paul snatched up the phone, his brow furrowing as he answered.
"What? What do you mean the kidnapping failed?"
His expression darkened as he listened, the colour draining from his face the longer he listened. "No! You let her slip away?"
"You are all failures! Don\'t give me any more of your fucking excuses for your incompetence."
In a fit of rage, he threw the phone against the wall, shattering it into pieces. "Damn it!" he bellowed, his voice echoing through the confined space of the small room. "This was supposed to be our chance!"
Rena stepped back, surprised by her son\'s sudden outburst. "We can regroup. We can still make this work."
Paul\'s gaze snapped to the man tied to the chair, his frustration boiling over. "You think you\'re safe? This isn\'t over. We will find that password, and when we do, there will be hell to pay."
The atmosphere thickened, the tension in the room was now laced with a sense of impending danger. Paul\'s mind raced through the plans—the meticulous preparations he had made along with Richard, Noah, and the Rajputs. The trap had been set perfectly, but now everything was in jeopardy.
"Get him ready for another round," Paul commanded, his voice low and dangerous. "We need to know where the code is hidden before it\'s too late."
As they resumed the interrogation, the man felt a chill run down his spine. He knew that he was going to be fucked up for real.

Meanwhile, inside the Prime Minister\'s office.
The atmosphere was fraught with tension. Rajesh Patel sat at the head of a long, polished table, his expression filled with concern as he listened to a group of military and intelligence officers who were briefing him about the recent developments surrounding the imminent threat to their base.
"Sir, we have received alarming reports of a potential attack on our base," one officer stated, his tone steady but laced with a sense of urgency.
Rajesh leaned forward, his brow furrowed. "Were there any survivors?"
"Unfortunately, no one except Commander Arjun. He managed to escape, thanks to his superhuman abilities," the officer replied, grimacing at the heavy toll of the incident.
Rajesh let out a deep breath, processing the information. "What do we know about the attack? Who\'s behind it?"
Another officer cleared his throat, exchanging glances with the others for support before he spoke. "We suspect it\'s an organized effort, possibly backed by advanced technology that could only come from higher-tier countries or possibly a formidable mercenary group, perhaps even a corps of Superhuman looking for something."
Rajesh paused, the gears in his mind turning. "I remember that facility was near Daxia. Do you think there could be a connection with them?"
The officer hesitated, the weight of the uncertainty hanging heavily in the room. "We don\'t have any concrete evidence yet, sir. It\'s still too early to make any assumptions."
"I see," Rajesh muttered, his expression darkening as he considered the implications. He nodded dismissively, signaling the officer to leave. The man walked out of the office, leaving an unsettling silence behind.
