Chapter 306: Chapter 306 You Killed Me
"I happen to own a villa there, and I\'ll put the keys in your hands. You can holiday there whenever you want."
"Rest assured, you won\'t be missing out on studying foreign languages there, I\'ll arrange everything for you."
Li Changsheng knew all too well that the other party was angling for a favor.
He didn\'t hedge; he offered up a villa directly.
Saying the other party could holiday there anytime was the same as gifting the villa.
He would even arrange for related services.
As long as it could save his younger son, he wasn\'t stingy with money.
That villa was worth a hundred and fifty million.
"That would be perfect, just wait for the good news of your son being released," Mr. Huang said with a laugh before hanging up the phone.
A blonde, blue-eyed beauty immediately came to his side, ready to help him undress.
"Hold on, I need to make a call first," Mr. Huang stopped the blonde beauty, scrolled through his contacts, and dialed a number.
Soon, the call connected.
"Teacher," it was Dong Gang from the Jiangcheng police department.
He had been Mr. Huang\'s student back at the law university.
"Dong, have you guys arrested a young man named Li Zixuan today?" Mr. Huang got straight to the point.
"Yes," Dong Gang\'s expression turned a bit odd.
What did the teacher want with this information?
"I heard that this young man just kicked someone, nothing serious, but the victim\'s son is somewhat influential and refuses to let it go."
"Things like this, you have to try everything to mediate, you can\'t just arrest people."
"Young people are bound to make minor mistakes; they deserve the chance to redeem themselves. Otherwise, arresting people at the drop of a hat isn\'t conducive to building a harmonious society in our country."
"Release him first, then explain everything to the parties involved, and be sure to mediate the situation."
Mr. Huang made a lofty pitch with the ultimate goal of having Dong Gang release Li Zixuan.
"Teacher, I don\'t understand why you\'d want to do this under these circumstances," Dong Gang said.
"Do I have to explain my actions to you?" Mr. Huang frowned, clearly displeased.
He needed to get this sorted, he still had to study foreign languages.
Why was this student being so unreasonable?
"I\'m sorry, teacher, but I can\'t release him," Dong Gang said firmly.
No matter who called, he wouldn\'t release him.
A person like Li Zixuan, as long as there was evidence, had to be dealt with.
It didn\'t matter who called.
Besides, the situation had already become widely known.
Lately, Dong Gang had been hearing odd stories about his teacher\'s activities.
He had always been reluctant to believe them.
But now, it seemed highly likely they were true.
Otherwise, why would his teacher, under such blatant circumstances, still recklessly demand that he release someone?
Was that a trivial matter?
If what Li Zixuan had done was considered trivial, then what constituted a serious issue?
For the first time, he felt no respect for his teacher, only a deep sense of disappointment.
"It looks like you no longer regard me as your teacher," Mr. Huang said gravely.
"Teacher, you\'ll always be my teacher, but I can\'t comply with this request of yours. I can\'t comprehend why, despite clear evidence and public knowledge, you would still ask me to release him. Do such people not deserve legal punishment in your eyes?" Dong Gang said.
"What did you say? What evidence is conclusive, known to everybody?" Boss Huang felt something was off.
"Teacher, do you really not know?" Dong Gang frowned.
"I don\'t know, isn\'t Li Zixuan just in trouble for kicking someone? How could such a trivial matter become known to everybody?"
After arriving at the estate and having dinner with friends, Boss Huang had come to study foreign languages, not caring about what was happening on the internet.
Even normally, he didn\'t pay much attention to things on the internet.
"Teacher, Li Zixuan has done many outrageous things. We have gathered the evidence, and judging by those actions, he\'s looking at a minimum of twenty years of fixed-term imprisonment. Moreover, all those incidents and evidence have been exposed on the internet, so when I said earlier, I don\'t know why you would risk such a public outcry by calling me and asking me to release him," Dong Gang said.
"What!" Boss Huang exclaimed, his body jolting as he stood up abruptly.
"Teacher, if you didn\'t know, you should go online and check it out," Li Changsheng shook his head with a sigh, and hung up the phone.
On the other end of the phone.
Boss Huang hurriedly went online to check the news.
Covering all the headlines were stories about Li Zixuan.
The top five trending topics, all about him.
"Li Changsheng, you bastard, not telling me about this, you\'re trying to kill me," he cursed.
Having understood the whole story, Boss Huang\'s temples throbbed with rage, unable to contain his anger.
If he had known it was this serious, he would have never agreed to help.
In such a situation, whoever intervenes would be doomed.
Only if he had his head caught in a door would he have offered help.
In fact, with his status, under normal circumstances, he would have made sure to fully understand the specifics before lending a hand.
That had been the case the two previous times he helped.
But today, he was so eager to study foreign languages that he skipped this step.
He quickly dialed Boss Huang\'s number.
Soon, the call connected.
"Boss Huang, is it taken care of?" Li Changsheng asked.
"Li Changsheng, I\'ve taken care of your mother, you\'re trying to get me killed!" Boss Huang swore angrily.
"Boss Huang, what do you mean?" Li Changsheng had a guess, supposing that Boss Huang knew the specifics but pretended not to.
"Li Changsheng, you damn well know what I mean. Your son\'s business is all over the place, known to everybody, and you still expect me to fish him out? Isn\'t that harming me?" Boss Huang fumed.
"Boss Huang, all I\'m trying to do is save my son. I hope you understand a father\'s desperate heart," Li Changsheng said.
Despite Boss Huang\'s verbal abuse, anger rose in Li Changsheng\'s heart, but he restrained himself.
"Understand my ass, you dare to deceive me like this, you just wait, I won\'t let you get away with this," Boss Huang raged.
There\'s nothing he hated more than being deceived.
"Boss Huang, don\'t you think you\'re going a bit too far? Our relationship is based on mutual benefit. I was just desperate to save my son today, I hope you can understand that," Li Changsheng said with a frown.
"You son of a…" Boss Huang\'s fury was not yet quelled, on the brink of cursing again.
But just then, the door to the room was opened.
"Who is it?" Boss Huang turned around sharply, only to find several policemen at the door, along with a few disciplinary officials.
He recognized the uniforms of the disciplinary officials clearly.
Seeing these people, Boss Huang was stunned.
"Boss Huang, this title must have brought you quite a profit, huh? We\'ve got a complete handle on your case. Come back with us for an organizational investigation," said one of the disciplinary officials.
The disciplinary officials had been investigating Boss Huang all along, and, as of today, they had finally obtained conclusive evidence of his illegal and corrupt conduct and had come here to make an arrest.
Boss Huang felt darkness before his eyes as his phone fell to the floor and he collapsed, weakened.
He knew that it was over for him.
