Infinite Potential System

Chapter 351: Poison Elemental

The Order upgrade commenced, a familiar presence entering William's body right from the start.

"Where's Chaos?" it asked in the human language while it tried to take control of William.

This time it was unsuccessful, which gave the Order Element a surprise. It tried a second time, but the boy's Soul Strength had improved dramatically since the last time it met William.

It asked a second question before William had time to respond to the first, "How long has it been?"

"It's not here. A few weeks." William replied simply.

"You've progressed this much in a few weeks?" the Order Element became curious about the person they were sealed inside.

Back in the Ancient Times, constant war and the absence of the Hell Realm made Soul Cultivation incredibly easy. Everywhere one went, there were thousands or even tens of thousands of Souls, just waiting to be absorbed.

When the Order Element roamed freely, however, Hel's Realm had already been established, where Hel alone controlled the Souls that roamed to his Realm. While this made many Soul Cultivators angry, Hel couldn't be stopped, he was already the strongest Soul Cultivator in existence, so others were forced to give up on speedy Soul Cultivation and make do with what Souls remained.

If this boy had progressed so far in only a few weeks, it only meant two things. Either Hel had lost control of his Realm or the boy was incredibly talented.

Little did the Element know that it was neither of these things, and William was just lucky enough to take someone else's Soul Cultivation.

"I see." the Order Element replied and pulled back its consciousness from William's body. There was no point trying to battle with William when it only had a limited amount of strength. It calculated the amount of Soul Strength William had, biding its time until the boy made a mistake.

The System notified William of the successful upgrade after less than a minute, so William checked the new statistics and tried to call forth the Mana of the Order Element. Unfortunately, the Order Mana wouldn't even respond to his call, much less form a Spell. It was utterly useless.

And to think it's a Mythic Element... William complained.

His words seemed to irritate the Order Element, a small burst of white Order Mana spreading from his fingertips on its own and piercing through the ground below William. As the white light descended, William could see the air, water, and even the minerals separate from the soil and condense into their purified forms.

It was like having the Earth, Water, and Wind Element combined, each performing different Spells to manipulate the material beneath him. No, it was more than that, but William didn't understand.

Seeing that the previous upgrade was quite quick, and William had no control over the Order Mana yet, William asked the System to upgrade the Order Element a second time. The next upgrade cost one thousand Potential Points, but William had more than enough to handle it.

His only concern was with the foreboding feeling that remained, having grown slightly stronger than the last time. It seemed that this form of sixth sense was reactionary to how dangerous the Order Element would be with his current Soul Strength, so William had no intention of ignoring it.

The consciousness of the Order Element returned, but it disappeared the moment it tugged a little at William's soul. It seemed to be probing William, waiting until it was strong enough to wrest control from William.

The Order Element reached C-Rank, but William had no intention of stopping just yet. He raised it to B-Rank, then A-Rank immediately afterwards, spending thirty thousand Potential Points in one go. Following the A-Rank upgrade, William finally had some control over the Order Mana, able to use it to replicate the Spell it cast before.

The only downside was the Order Element's presence would come and go as it pleased, much different from the Chaos Element. Even when not upgrading the Order Element, William felt its attachment as if it was another System, listening to his thoughts and feeling his emotions as it looked around.

William was slightly concerned with this and decided not to upgrade the Order Element anymore. His Soul Strength wasn't even a hundred thousand Points yet, and he didn't have enough Potential Points to reach X-Rank even if he could resist the Order Element's pressure.

I guess these Order Fruits will have to be stored until later... William sighed inwardly.

If the other Elements would also need to be X-Rank to consume the Elemental Fruits, William realized it was better to plant Elemental Farms for the necessary Elements.

That said, he plucked the remainder of the Order Fruits and stored them in the warehouse, then used his second Farm Slot to purchase a Seal Element Farm and upgraded it to D-Rank directly using one hundred and eleven thousand Potential Points.

He couldn't afford the C-Rank upgrade, but thankfully both farms were set to grow in thirty days regardless. He left the mental space and returned to his friends, where they were still Cultivating silently.

Five days later, William had completely filled his Spirit Qi storage and was ready to leave. He couldn't continue to break through to the following stages, as even his full-power Seal Element couldn't suppress his strength any further.

That said, there was no reason to wake up his friends, so William informed the group that he would be leaving while they could remain. Just in case, he used Tier 6 Arrays as a protective measure and called Uri through the System to provide protection from any random enemies.

As he flew across the Velos Continent, William came in contact with the poisonous miasma again. He realized he didn't have Grotnet's smoke canisters to help him get through the area, but William realized that he might not need him at all.

My Nascent Soul seems to have some resistance to Poison, this should be a perfect chance to test out the miasma again! Even if I can't last an hour, I can fly much faster than we were walking before.

With that in mind, William sat in one place and upgraded his Poison Element from S to X-Rank in one go using 97500 Potential Points. He only had a little under fifty thousand Points left, but William wasn't worried.

In fact, he was excited upon seeing the stats of the X-Rank Poison Element.

I can become a Poison Elemental? That's insane! William smiled as he tested out the effects. His body became completely green and liquified in an instant, but he didn't feel any pain. Instead, he splashed on the ground and oozed from left to right as if he was a slime.

When he focused his mental energy, William was able to maintain his physical form while still acting as the Poison Elemental, and with some practice he was even able to wield weapons, though the weaker ones were corroded as if William had poured acid on their surface.

He tested the poisonous miasma next, dipping his finger into the toxin to test for damage. Surprisingly, the poisoned finger was able to slightly resist the effects of the miasma, and even stood strong after an entire minute of continued exposure.

Seeing this, William leaped into the poisonous miasma, allowing the toxic body to sustain all the injuries on its own. Better yet, the Recovery Talent was able to restore his poisonous body, making surviving the poisonous miasma that much easier.

One minute, five minutes, ten minutes. William enjoyed the poisonous miasma like a bath, while his Soul Strength was only sapped at a rate of one per minute.

As he reached the half-hour mark, William realized one major problem.

Shit, I'm out of Mana!
