Chapter 215 Innocent
Then Melina got herself ready too, wearing her less expensive dress. They even removed most of their expensive items from the house—they needed to look poor, after all.
While driving, he received a message from Eric. He seemed quite surprised after learning that Lucian was about to release a new game, and it looked unlike any other.
Echo had already done her work. She sent all the information to Eric and released the trailer on Gold\'s channel. It already had quite a lot of views.
Soon, Lucian arrived at the society where Robert lived. The guard opened the door as he saw the car approaching. It was a high-end society, and it wasn\'t rare to see expensive cars.
Robert and Melina were both standing outside the house. They waited for Lucian, exchanging light whispers between them. They both had serious expressions.
Lucian stopped the car in front of their house, parked it there, and then got out. Melina instantly approached him and helped Lucian get out as if he couldn\'t walk on his own.
"Let us get inside," she said warmly, letting his arm rest around her shoulder as she held him carefully.
"I have prepared a feast for you," Robert said with a beaming smile.
"Is Leo not here?" Lucian asked as he slightly leaned into his hot aunt while walking into the house. Even with this minimal touch, her body felt very soft.
"Ah, haha, T—That\'s—he has gone out to meet some people. But you don\'t have to worry about it—it\'s just some debt collectors," Robert said, smiling pitifully.
"Debt collectors?" Lucian mumbled as if he was thinking. Melina smelled really good, like fresh flowers blooming early in the morning.
"It looks a lot different from what I remember. A few of the things are missing," Lucian said as he walked into the familiar house. Robert had bought the house after getting the money.
Soon after Lucian was thrown out to live in that area, without much money. He never saw anyone from either of his uncle\'s family, and all this time they had been enjoying his money.
"Yeah, we had to sell many things to pay off the debts. Haha, it\'s embarrassing to make you see all this. Anyway, come and eat with us. Your aunt has spent the entire day preparing these dishes for you," Robert spoke as the three of them walked toward the dining table.
Lucian sat down with Melina sitting beside him. Then she began to bring all the dishes from the kitchen, placing all of them in front of him.
"Aren\'t you going to eat?" Lucian asked, looking at his uncle and aunt.
"No, we have already eaten," Melina lied, trying to look even more pitiful. Enjoy more content from empire
Just then, Robert\'s stomach rumbled, and they both showed embarrassed expressions. Just for this, Robert hadn\'t eaten anything since the morning. They were both showing that, even though they didn\'t even have the money to eat, they were putting such a feast for Lucian.
"Then I\'ll enjoy it." Lucian completely ignored the sound of his stomach and began to eat the delicious food. It was definitely from some hotel.
Robert stared at the food hungrily as it slowly disappeared. Melina was even feeding Lucian on her own. She acted like she cared for him more than her own husband and son.
Within a few minutes, all the food had disappeared, and Lucian took a deep breath as he leaned back in his chair. Melina picked the glass of water and brought it up to his lips, caring for him as if he was the king.
"There is soon going to be a drama competition, and I am going to be the main lead. Would you like to come and watch?" Lucian asked, looking at Melina as he ignored Robert.
"Oh! You are going to be the main lead? Wait, is this a drama of your school or that big drama competition which is quite famous?" Melina asked. She too had heard about that competition.
"Yes, it is that famous competition. A few of the talented people will be selected too," Lucian replied.
"Whoa, you must be really good at acting! I will definitely be there to watch you act," Melina said happily. She clapped and gave Lucian a hug, a big smile on her face.
They talked for some time, sharing various things, and occasionally the couple would bring up their financial problems. The more they tried to make it obvious, the more dense Lucian acted.
"We have prepared this room especially for you. Doesn\'t it look quite similar to the one that you had during your childhood?" Melina asked as the three of them stood outside the room.
It did look quite similar to the room Lucian had stayed in when he was living with Robert. Even the bed looked quite similar—they had done their best to make Lucian happy.
"Yeah, it does look good, but I would need someone to take care of me during the night. Should I call that nurse here?" Lucian asked.
The couple looked at each other before shaking their heads and refusing.
"There is no need for that. I am here to take care of you. You shouldn\'t trust those people. She must only be after your money, and I doubt she would do a better job than me," Melina said instantly.
"Yes, let her take care of you. Can\'t you see her love and worry? You shouldn\'t worry about anything and just get healthy again," Robert nodded hastily.
Even now, Lucian was leaning on Melina. He was walking just normally, but it was her who took the initiative to help him.
"But then… she would have to sleep in this room with me? Won\'t you mind?" Lucian asked, looking innocently at Melina, who responded immediately.
"Of course not. Why would I feel uncomfortable with it? You are like my son. Even if you have grown a little, you are still the same little Luci for me. My love for you never changes. Don\'t worry about anything and let me take care of you," Melina said, slightly squeezing his arm.
"Yes, there is nothing weird about it. She will stay here with you until you are completely fine," Robert smiled. He really didn\'t think there was anything wrong with it. For him, Lucian was still the little naive boy.
What could even happen, even if they did sleep together? Not that Melina would do anything inappropriate with him.
"Okay, if you say so. I also think Aunty is like my own mother," Lucian smiled.
They walked around the neighborhood as Robert pointed out the rich families living there. Dozens of luxurious cars lined the streets, showcasing the wealth of the area.
"Amazing! All the people living here are quite rich. No wonder Uncle lives here too," Lucian exclaimed, his tone light and innocent.
Robert gritted his teeth secretly, his smile tightening, but he said nothing.
Soon, they returned to the house. It was time to sleep, so Robert excused himself, muttering something to Melina before heading to his room. Lucian, meanwhile, walked into his room with his aunt.
"I bought this sleepwear for you. See if it fits," Melina said, holding out a neatly folded set of clothes.
"Okay." Lucian nodded and took the clothes from her. Without hesitation, he began unbuttoning his shirt.
Melina had intended to leave the room to give him privacy to change, but the moment his shirt came off, her eyes were involuntarily drawn to him.
Her gaze lingered on his muscular frame. His physique was perfect, with smooth, soft-looking skin. For a moment, she stood frozen, her eyes roaming freely over his body as her thoughts scattered.
"Aunty, aren\'t you going to change into your sleepwear?" Lucian\'s voice snapped her out of her daze. She blinked rapidly and shook her head, dispelling the inappropriate thoughts.
"Y- yes, give me a minute. I\'ll be back," she replied hastily, her voice slightly uneven. She turned and rushed out of the room without sparing another glance, afraid of being entranced again.
\'He\'s really grown up wonderfully... what ami thinking?\' Melina thought as she walked down the hallway, her mind replaying the image of his chest and muscles. Her heartbeat quickened against her will.
"Haa… I guess he\'s no longer a child. But thankfully, he\'s still the same at heart. Otherwise, staying with him like this would be impossible," Melina muttered to herself with a sigh. She grabbed her nightwear from her room and changed into something simple yet slightly elegant.
Robert, preoccupied with scheming his next steps, didn\'t notice the faint blush on her cheeks or the distracted look on her face.
After a few minutes, once she had calmed her thoughts and changed into her sleepwear, Melina found herself standing outside Lucian\'s room again.
\'It\'ll be fine… I shouldn\'t think about that,\' she told herself, taking a deep breath. Then, steeling her nerves, she opened the door and stepped inside.
Lucian had already changed into the clothes she gave him and was now sitting on the bed, focused on his phone.
"You look good in those clothes. They aren\'t too loose or tight, right?" Melina asked, closing the door behind her. Her gaze briefly swept over him. Even though he was fully dressed, she could still vividly recall the image of his perfectly sculpted body.
