Chapter 653 - Sailing Through the Starry Skies

Chapter 653: Sailing Through the Starry Skies

Translator: Alsey Editor: Chrissy

“The sun rises as I climb the sky, I want to sing out loud when I reach the zenith...”

Chu Feng was singing his heart out happily. Within the folded space on earth, there were no signs of any human or ferocious beasts in the star passage leading to the outer realm.

“This here should be the ancient pathway that leads to the destination.”

Chu Feng deduced and confirmed the route based on the various literary references, especially the ancient anecdotes collections gathered from the photon computer.

In the end, he confirmed that this pathway in the depths of Mount Huang was the most likely route to his destination.

The Earth was extremely glorious in ancient times. Myriad races came here on pilgrimage, and there were star passages in many of the famed mountains connecting to different galaxies. It could be considered an extremely prosperous era.

Unfortunately, the evolvers on earth had met a fatal end and came fairly close to being wiped out after the great ancient war. Some of the star passages were destroyed, while others were left deserted. If not for the evolvers from the outer realm taking the initiative to walk on these ancient passages again in this era, probably no one would know of them.

Chu Feng confirmed that there wasn’t anyone on this pathway. Currently, most evolvers could enter earth with the exception of extremely powerful entities.

“Farewell, Earth, my parents, family, and friends!”

Chu Feng stood calmly at the folded space, turned around, and took a last glance. He didn’t know when he would be able to come back again after this farewell.

His happy expression turned glum. Nobody could predict what would happen in the starry skies nor could he tell what to expect on this journey.

He only hoped for everything to sail smoothly and to be reunited soon with those he held dear.

According to the plan, he would require a suitable identity in the outer realm, capable of withstanding all ten investigations perfectly. Then he would rise to power and come home within a short period of time. He wouldn’t miss out on the fortunes of the awakening Earth.

However, who could say what would happen the moment he had stepped into the starry skies?

Then again, Chu Feng felt that even if he couldn’t make it back within this short period of time, it didn’t matter much as he had obtained what he wanted the most.

Breathing Technique and Reverse Aging Immortality Medicine—these were the best of the best!

“Swoosh!”

Confirming that there were no other people, he brought out the green bamboo boat and boarded it. He steered the boat effortlessly into the depths of the folded space and disappeared into the emptiness with the speed of light.

Chu Feng reached the end of the pathway in the folded space, and there, he entered the starry skies with one last leap.

There was a domain at the end of the folded space that could realize spatial transitions. It was linked to the outer realms, and through that, he flew into the darkness of the cosmos.

When the transmission was complete, Chu Feng was teleported onto a silent and desolate planet. There was also a transmission domain here that could help him advance in his journey.

“No way, don’t tell me I have to cross over one planet to another throughout the entire journey before I can reach my destination? How long is this going to take?”

He finally understood why even most of the divine sons and saintesses required at least several months to a year’s time on the road. Without using any special abilities and techniques, it might take forever to finish the journey through the vast starry skies.

At this very moment, he had the urge to just call up Wormhole Express Company to have himself packed up and sent to the destination like a parcel.

However, he was somewhat worried. Even though he was a platinum VIP customer, the other party might not necessarily help him keep everything confidential. He would surely die if this matter were leaked.

Earth was his hometown. Entering the starry skies meant that he had lost his final shelter.

“According to the interstellar route found on the photon computer, there will be a super vital star up head. Perhaps I can figure out a shortcut to my destination from there.”

At this moment, he was standing right on a cold and uninhabited dead planet. It wasn’t large and could only be considered as a very small planet. The air was still and lifeless—all he could see was a vast expanse of open area around him.

Glancing above him, everything was dark and unfathomable—there were stars that appeared fairly close but were, in fact, cold and dismal.

There wasn’t a single sound in the entire world. The thought of not being able to see his family and friends made him miss them more even though it hadn’t been long since he left Earth alone.

What if... he could no longer return and meet them again. He didn’t dare think of this.

Soon enough, Chu Feng left the planet through the transmission domain. He disappeared into the sea of stars in a flash and began his journey.

Without the star passages and routes marked by ancient predecessors, crossing the sky was impossible even though Chu Feng was traveling through the cosmos on the green bamboo boat.

He wished he had the ability of a saint so that he could go to places effortlessly with this boat without wasting unnecessary time landing on certain planets for transmigrating. But alas, his ranking was considerably low in the realm.

The only past time during this dull, uninteresting journey was to update himself with news of the outside world by logging in to the photon computer. However, there was little to no reception most of the time.

“Surging yang energy burst from the primal chaotic and melted some planets?!”

Chu Feng was stunned speechless by this news. The so-called meteor shower he saw during his departure the other day was actually a burst of yang energy?

“Suspected invasion into this cosmos by an entity from the yang realm?” Chu Feng was shocked to find out that the concept of the yang realm had been made public during this period of time.

Following that, even more shocking news was revealed.

“Warning, please be cautious of entities with overbearing yang energy!”

“Please report to the saints immediately if detected. Do not act recklessly, by all means, stronger evolvers will tend to this issue!”

Through this news, Chu Feng’s instinct was telling him that some high ranking elite races understood the Yang Realm fairly well and wanted to capture this entity for their own purposes.

He also saw a lot of comments on the Origin Beast Platform, actively voicing out their fear and concern toward these entities.

“Damn it, if there really is a Yang Realm, does that mean we’re ghosts and they’re humans?”

Chu Feng said to himself. He felt that they were simply too meek.

“It’s always been humans being afraid of ghosts. When have you ever heard of it being the other way around?” Chu Feng mumbled with much dissatisfaction.

However, high ranking elites from myriad races had never once allowed this dark side of the cosmos to be revealed. Hence the “truth” was never unveiled to the people here.

That was why the people in this cosmos definitely couldn’t stomach the idea of coexisting.

Truth to be told, Chu Feng was still in denial every time he realized he was now living as a ghost when he was actually made of flesh and blood like any other human.

He thought that perhaps this was a relative definition, one decided by how vigorous one’s yang energy was.

He became uneasy whenever he recalled the sigh of the spider lily because. According to him, this cosmos was once destroyed and currently filled with the dead.

“Ghost or not, I still feel that I’m alive. I’ve always existed so I don’t need other people’s recognition. Sooner or later, I’ll definitely make a trip to the Yang Realm to see for myself what’s so great about it.”

It was a very lonely trip without anyone to talk to. Chu Feng had enough of talking to himself and ended up keeping his mouth shut.

He missed the people on Earth the most during this journey.

The overwhelming loneliness was too much as he traveled on his own in the vast universe.

He felt so tiny in this limitless space. It is definitely impossible to travel from one galaxy to another if not for these passages left behind by the ancient people.

Chu Feng calmed down and stopped longing for home after half a month’s time had

passed.

A month later, Chu Feng began to grow numb. With no one to confide in or speak to, he could foresee himself turning into an introvert.

Along the way, he absorbed special energy particles in the cosmos and started his training of visualizing the vast sea of stars.

One and a half month later, his uneventful trip was disturbed.

While he was resting on a desolate planet after coming out from the transmission domain, he noticed that there was a beam of light flying toward his direction.

Chu Feng’s level now enabled him to survive with just pure energy, without worrying about air or water.

He stood still, looking toward the blinding light. Then, he noticed that the light was getting brighter and bigger—it was ultimately heading toward him at an unexplainable speed.

“Holy sh*t!”

Chu Feng yelled out loudly as he sprang up and ran with all his might. He hopped into his green bamboo boat and rushed toward the sky.

Because the objected headed in his direction with great force was a spherical metallic space vessel, bursting with glaring radiance and packed with intolerable amounts of yang energy.

Whoosh! The green bamboo boat charged out and brought Chu Feng across the void. As long as there was an energy source, the boat would be able to initiate the warping sequence within a certain range. In a flash, Chu Feng reached the outer realm and observed from there.

Boom!

The moment that metallic sphere vessel touched the ground of the dead planet, an invisible impact created an abyss-like crater on the surface. Raging with monstrous fire, the scorching yang energy incinerated the surface uncontrollably leaving nothing behind.

“What the hell?!” Chu Feng was startled. That dense scorching Yang energy evaporated all the energy and destroyed the planet.

Chu Feng who was up in the sky was stunned by the extreme and abrupt changes.

“Clang!”

The door of the metallic sphere vessel opened and out came a girl. She coughed and shivered terribly immediately after breathing in the air of the planet—it was as though she were in sub-zero temperatures.

She coughed and whined, “Why is it so freaking cold here? Have I really came to the netherworld, the kingdom of ghosts? This is freaking scary, how could I have landed here, will there be ghosts here?”

It would seem that this girl was quite formidable. Although Chu Feng didn’t exactly understand her words, he somewhat guessed what she meant from her strong spiritual fluctuations.

“Ah, it’s real! There’s a little ghost in the sky!”

The girl noticed Chu Feng who was in the green bamboo boat in the sky as he couldn’t avoid being reflected in the magic mirror in her hand. She let out an ear piercing scream full of fear.

She started to wail and cry, “I miss my Mommy... how could I have entered the underworld? I can’t believe such a place actually exists, don’t people just disappear after death? So ghosts do exist? But I am very much alive right now, so why am I here in this cold and sinister world? I miss my home badly and I really wanted to go home now...” She yelled as she continued to sob, “Stupid ghost, you are not allowed to come near me! Stay away!”

The girl was clad in an odd looking spacesuit, draped with the fur of a mighty divine beast. The glowing runes and the incomparable level of yang energy emitted an extremely intimidating aura.

Yet, she was scared gutless thinking that Chu Feng might approach her.

Chu Feng was utterly speechless with her reaction. “I’m a bona fide human, the real ‘ghost’ here is you, you little gutless twerp!” was what he almost blurted out.

He wanted to take a closer look at her, but her aura was like the sun, scorching and glaring. The overwhelming yang energy enveloping her was akin to the eternal divine furnace, ablaze with raging flames.

Chu Feng was startled to discover that the blazing aura was very unique; it didn’t feel like it originated from this cosmos nor share any similarities with the stellar rays he had seen before.

“I saw a ghost! I want to go home right now!” the girl yelled as she slammed the vessel door close with a crash.
